Common Sense: When confronted with a question, Kyle seeks a logical answer. He is often called upon by his peers for advice
when an expedient, reasonable decision is needed.
Communication Skills: As the Notre Dame Leprechaun, Kyle was often called upon to be the voice of the University in front of
thousands. But his communication skills are not limited to grand stages. Kyle's comfort in working with small groups was
honed in the countless late night team meetings required of a business school marketing major.
Competency: While school board members are not expected to be experts in every facet of the educational process, they do need a certain
level of proficiency across the board. Kyle never enters a meeting without making an effort to do some research and study
up. When a local charity recently needed a volunteer to help them decipher a complex federal disaibilities bill, they turned
to Kyle for a briefing.
Energy: Kyle is known to tirelessly pursue as many intitiatives as he can while still performing at the highest level. His extra-curricular
plate in college was full with activities like marching band and cheerleading, even doing both concurrently while carrying
eighteen credit hours. These days, Kyle is enrolled full-time in law school, directs an on-campus performing arts
company, runs an occasional marathon, and plays percussion for area theatre groups -- all while managing a city-wide
campaign.

Honesty: Acquaintances will likely tell you that Kyle calls it as it is. An honest assessment, even if it is not pretty,
is not only what the public deserves, but it also lays the foundation for improvement.
Leadership: Since his days as elementary school student council president, Kyle's peers have repeatedly chosen him for positions
of leadership. When called upon to lead a programming initiative for the campus Student Activities Office last year, Kyle
produced a full-scale musical production involving over 50 participants, an undertaking that often takes months, in a
mere two weeks. While some laud his outgoing personality and vision, Kyle personally takes more pride in being
a leader by example. In four years of daily marching band practice as an undergrad, he was never once absent or late.
Professionalism: Kyle's time at the Notre Dame Office of News and Information provided a lesson in professionalism. Outward
manifestation is important; sometimes even the best intended intiatives can be doomed by poor presentation. From meeting
with clients at the law firm to an old part-time gig as a drummer, Kyle treats every engagement with the respect it deserves.
Even when tough decisions must be made behind the scenes, Kyle understands how to properly represent an organization in public.
Vision: Leaders must formulate long-term strategy and see that those goals permeate the entire culture of their organization. Kyle
sets plans and sticks to them, refusing to let temporary whims cloud his judgment.
